Our class will be honored at St. Patrick's Seminary in Menlo Park on Saturday,
April 24, 2010
to mark the 50th anniversary of our graduation from St. Joseph's College. (Even if you did not stay to graduate, you are still considered to be a part of our class.) Our
celebration will begin at 11:00 a.m., with lunch at 12:00 Noon at the Bishop's residence on the campus of St. Patrick's College in Menlo Park.
This is a very special time for us; please try to be there
to celebrate and visit with us.
Our planned schedule is:
11:00 a.m. - R'60 class gathering
12:00 p.m. - Lunch for our class
1:00 - 3:00 p.m. - Discussion and visiting
We then merge our celebration with the Alumni Day festivities with
4:00 p.m. - Mass in the St. Patrick's Seminary Chapel
5:00 p.m. - Happy hour
6:00 p.m. - Dinner
A special table is reserved for our R'1960 class during this dinner.
Some of our classmates have formed a planning committee, and they have been
working on our celebration party. Here are their names and contact e-mail
addresses - and even a picture. Please feel free to send any of them a note.

An excellent memoir has been written by our classmate John Hinsvark. There are two ways that you can see this article. If you want to go directly to John's article, then
If you want to see a collection of several "remembrance" articles, then click on the
"Memoirs" button at the top of this page. John's article will be at the top; plus
other articles, including one by Fr. Olivier, will be just one mouse-click away.
Enjoy!
We have started up a picture gallery for our class.
Right now it contains only two photographs;
we will add more as we receive them. To get to that page, click on the
"Photo Gallery" at the
bottom of this page. When you are in this gallery then click on the
"Rhetoric Class of 1960" photo collection. Enjoy!
A letter has been sent to all of our classmates, at least those with known addresses.
As part of our reunion in April, we are now making requests for brief bios, stories about St. Joe's, pictures or even memoirs to be placed on the Saint Joseph's alumni web site. Classmate Chuck Smith will coordinate this effort. You can e-mail your material to him at the e-mail address listed above.
If you are not able to scan the pictures, you can mail them to him and he will scan them and return them to you. If you have a lot of photographs, please put them on a CD and mail them to him at the following address: 16477 Oak Glen Avenue; Morgan Hill, CA 95037.
Two brief biographies have already been received and they are posted here:
Bill McClure
and
John Van Hagen
Two other notes: Please send your e-mail address to John Van Hagen (cited above).
This will make communication a lot easier and cheaper. Secondly, there will be another announcement in a few weeks to get an idea of how many of you will be coming to alumni day and if you will be attending the lunch for our class which will be hosted by our R'60 planning committee.
The 6:00 P.M. dinner is sponsored by the Seminary Alumni Board. A separate announcement will be sent out by Jim Murphy, the coordinator for the board.
You will need to respond to this announcement, and sign up separately for the Alumni Board event and dinner. Our class will have a table(s) reserved for us at this dinner.
Location:
Does everybody know how to find the Bishop's residence?
Well, we want you to be able to drive right to it, and not wander around the campus as I had to do;
so here are some directions. As you enter the St. Patrick's campus veer to the right and park at the first opportunity. You will be on the right side (the library side) of St. Patricks. You will also be quite close to the Bishop's residence. It is a beautiful home (as you can see in this picture) and we are honored to be able to use it for our R'1960 reunion. Lunch will be waiting for you!
We'll see you there at 11:00 a.m. on our reunion day.
